Rutgers Improved is a Rutgers-type tomato with additional disease resistance.
This is a short, bushy, compact, determinate tomato plants that yield 7 oz., dark-red tomatoes with thick walls that are loaded with delicious flavors. Excellent tomato for canning.
This is a strong flavored, delicious regular tasting tomato. The plant is quite small, about 2-3' in height and is quite suitable for pots.
The growing season of 2009, meant that tomato production for the Determinate plants here in the Bay Area was not good and even though this plant showed no real signs of wear and tear, it also produced a limited number of tomatoes unfortunately
