ARMENIAN TOMATO
ARMENIAN - (D) – Catalog #3
Leaf Type - Regular
From tomato collector Charlotte Mullens of West Virginia. Large flattish yellow and orange flesh with some red marbling. A bi-colored beefsteak with great flavor and unusually strong flavors for a bi-colored. Rare heirloom – 85 days
SIMPLY TOMATOES NOTES:
August 10 - In the bottom of my east facing garden, this plant has experienced "it all", cold, moist air, very unusual weather cold/hot/cold/hot and still has a few fabulous looking under-ripe Tomatoes as of Aug 2 . The plant is struggling, but showing great promise. Sadly, as of September 5th, the weather here in the Bay area has been so erratic that this plant has given up and will die. The few tomatoes pictured have been absolutely exceptional. They are sweet and beautifully colored when sliced. As you can see there is more cracking than expected, my assumption the crazy weather.
Here is a picture of our first tomto from this plant.
As you can see this tomato is more red than orange, indeed a very pretty tomato
